What a great day for Hannah and Robert. The weather was great in Troutdale at McMenamins Edgefield (okay, maybe a bit warm there for a bit) and there were plenty of smiles, laughs and tears (the good kind).

Hannah and Robert are avid gardeners so the lush greenery in Edgefield’s gardens were the perfect backdrop for their romantic portraits. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t take your portraits at noon- there are always ways to work with the light (or add you own) to create memorable images.

After a lovely ceremony and quick group photograph it was time for a bit of partying. What a fun group of people.

Heather and Liza of Quince Flowers and Events did a beautiful job with the floral arrangements.

All of the weddings that I’m lucky enough to be a part of are happy occasions, but this one takes the cake. Nicole and Cabel are very generous with their infectious smiles and the day was filled with laughs.

We began the day in the beautifully remodeled rooms of the Hotel deLuxe (I highly recommend this hotel for getting ready and family accommodations) and Nicole and Cable caught their first sight of each other outside by the MAX tracks. Then it was off to the apartment building where they met and finally up to Washington Park for some romantic portraits.

Their ceremony and reception were held at Holocene- a great venue for a wedding whose minimalist design allowed Nicole and Cabel to mold it to their personal vision. A big part of that vision was realized by Francoise Weeks’ floral designs- beautiful as always.

The day was wonderfully coordinated by Amy of Blush. I always encourage my clients to utilize a bridal consultant- it really allows them to relax and enjoy their day (which makes for great pictures!).
